Biochemical Panel Discussion

The SC Biomass Council has arranged for a panel of experts from Clemson University to discuss current biochemical research underway in South Carolina and the potential for biochemical production in the future.  The meeting will take place on November 9, 2016 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Clemson University Madren Center in Seminar Room 1.  This meeting will be the second in our series of meetings looking at the potential for biochemicals created from biomass.  The panel will be moderated by Dr. Mike Henson and the panel members will include Dr. Terry Walker, Dr. Sarah Harcum, Dr. Mark Blenner, and Dr. Srikanth Pilla.

Dr. Terry Walker - An Energy Revolution Through Resilient Biosystems 

Dr. Sarah Harcum - High Gravity Fermentation of Bagasse Hydrolysate by Saccharomyces pastorianus

Dr. Mark Blenner - Microbial Production of Value Added Chemicals and Opportunities for Creating New Markets for Biomass.

Dr. Srikanth Pilla - Enabling Renewable Precursors to Innovate Next Generation Bio- and Green- Composites and Energy Resources
